Chicago, IL — The Chicago City Council Progressive Caucus is hosting a press conference to call for the removal of Chicago Police Department officers from Chicago Public Schools and investment in developmentally appropriate disciplinary alternatives that improve school safety, boost student attendance, raise academic achievement, and save taxpayer dollars.This is in advance of the city council joint committee hearing on the Chicago Inspector General’s report on school resources officers in CPS at 10am.
WHAT: The Chicago Progressive Caucus is calling for the removal of CPD from CPS and investment in alternative, restorative disciplinary methods.
